J.O. Smith (Jimmy) is the CEO of Full Armor Training, LLC.  He is a retired law enforcement specialist with over 48 year of experience. He worked 18 years at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) serving as the Chief of three different training divisions. He served for five years as the Director of the International Law Enforcement Academy in Gaborone, Botswana, training law enforcement officials from over 34 Sub-Saharan countries. Before coming to work at the FLETC, he retired from the U.S. Park Police after 28 years as the supervisor of the Criminal Investigations Branch and the SWAT team in the San Francisco, Ca. Field Office. He also served on the protection detail for the Secretary of the Interior for 7 years. Accomplished law enforcement executive, investigator, interviewer and trainer with the ability to develop and implement International and local law enforcement training curriculum and strategies that support the fight against transnational crimes and general law enforcement challenges.

Full Armor Training, LLC – specializes in Concealed Carry and Home Defense (USCCA), basic and advance leadership training, and security awareness.  J.O. is certified by Sheepdog Church Security to provide assistance and direction in properly safeguarding your church safety/security.  J.O. is also certified as a DISC and Motivators instructor who has taught leadership training all over the world. This includes behavioral style analysis (DISC), motivators, communication skills, problem solving, goal-oriented management, body language, team building and observation skills. He is an adjunct instructor teaching leadership courses to government officials in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the past three years.

Why  we  are  here

We believe there is a real need for training individuals interested in owning and carrying a firearm.  In talking to several people, we noticed a lot of them had no idea of the legal problems one could find themselves in after using a firearm on another individual and decided to develop and offer training to equip them in this area using USCCA training materials.

Relying upon the many years of experience as a high level manager and supervisor in law enforcement and teaching many leadership courses, we decided to offer courses covering many of the requirements to become a good leader and manager. These courses all include some Behavioral Analysis (DISC) and Motivators training which equips individuals on how to better understand themselves, their co-workers, subordinates and their supervisors. 

All Full Armor Training instructors are former law enforcement professionals with a tremendous amount of field experience in addition to having instruction skills.
